Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Golf
MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4
- Years 1997-2003 Before putting your hands on the scooter, of course, make sure that the battery is intact and that the problem does not come from you. Place the car on the footpegs and remove the lower cover, now by opening the hood we can have access to the solenoid, after having removed the battery and its support surface. The motor has 2 connectors, the first is a thick cable while the second is a smaller cable, remove both and clean them to remove any rust or other debris attached to them, this could also be the problem, so reconnect the battery and check once again its functioning. Disconnect the battery again and all the connectors around the motor, pulling out all the cables that pass near it and now also remove the bolt that blocks the plastic collar that contained all the cables. Now you can finally remove all the bolts that lock the motor to the motor. Probably the problem could be the solenoid and by replacing it alone you could save something. To test this, just try to connect the cable instead of the main connector to the bolt on its left, if the motor runs without letting the pinion come out then the problem will be the solenoid. You can replace the solenoid by releasing it from the screws and bolts on it. Once the problems have been verified and the necessary parts replaced, reassemble everything, making sure to follow the steps in the correct order.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen PoloLet's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again! by ScegliAuto More videos
