Learn how to remove the starter motor from a Volkswagen Golf 4. After removing the engine cover from the car, locate the starter motor. Disconnect the power terminals of the starter motor using pliers or a screwdriver, depending on the pressure of the tabs. Use a socket spanner to unscrew the securing bolts of the starter motor and remove it from the engine bay. Finally, fit the new starter motor by connecting the power cables and securing it with the associated screws. Prepare to refit the starter motor to the vehicle along with all its components.
