Resetting the Service Light on the Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

After replacing the engine oil in the Volkswagen Golf, you need to reset the warning system that alerts you to this operation. Sit in the driver's seat and, with the instrument panel off, press and hold the button to the left of the speedometer. Turn on the instrument panel, wait ten seconds, and release the button. Rotate the knob to the right of the rev counter. Turn off the instrument panel and remove the ignition key. Reinsert the key and turn on the panel to check the operation was successful.
