Resetting the SERVICE Warning Light Manually

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 6, Golf VI, Golf 6, 5K1 - Years 2008-2012

Resetting the SERVICE warning light on the instrument panel is done manually and does not require diagnostic tools. After performing regular maintenance by replacing the engine oil and filters, follow these steps to reset the SERVICE light: 1) Ignition off; 2) Press and hold the button at the bottom right of the instrument panel (00SET button); 3) While holding the 00SET button, turn on the ignition; 4) Release the 00SET button; 5) Press the button at the bottom left of the instrument panel. Reset completed: the mileage countdown will restart until the next maintenance.
