The service light that illuminates on the instrument cluster of the Volkswagen Golf 7 can be cleared by holding down the 0.0 button located at the centre of the instrument cluster while it is off. While continuing to hold the button, turn the key in the ignition to activate the instrument cluster: releasing the button will display a message asking if you really want to reset the maintenance and oil light.

Using the OK button located on the right-hand lever of the steering wheel or its right spoke, you can completely clear the light.
