How to Reset the Service Light on the Volkswagen Golf 6?

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 6, Golf VI, Golf 6, 5K1 - Years 2008-2012

On the Volkswagen Golf 6, to reset the Service light, turn on the instrument cluster to access the menu on the onboard computer. Scroll right using the arrows on the steering wheel spoke until you find the 'SETTINGS' option. Then scroll down to select 'Service interval' and subsequently 'Reset'. Selecting these options will bring up a confirmation message, where you need to confirm the reset by selecting 'Yes' with the OK button. Once the operation is complete, the cluster can be switched off.
