Below are the main instructions useful for removing and replacing the rear brake light switch on the Volkswagen Jetta, as well as the Golf. First, open the driver's side front door and start locating the stop switch; you will find it behind the brake pedal, where you simply need to detach it and disconnect its electrical connector to remove it, as illustrated in the video.

At this point, install the new stop switch, as well as the original one, ensuring that the stop light comes on when you press the brake pedal!
