Replacing the Boot Lid on a Volkswagen Jetta

These brief steps will guide you on how to disassemble and replace the boot lid on a Volkswagen Jetta. First, open the boot lid and start disconnecting the side elastic tube; then remove the rear boot lid panel, subsequently removing the boot lock (undoing the screws and disconnecting the electrical connector), as illustrated in the video. At this point, detach the hydraulic struts from the boot lid and unscrew the hinge bolts to remove it from the body, replacing it with the new one and reassembling everything!
