Volkswagen Scirocco - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Scirocco MK 3 - Years 2008-2017
Part: Timing belt
Operation: What are the symptoms that should alert us to the distribution chain on the Volkswagen Golf/Scirocco 1.4 TSI?

In this video, we are described the symptoms that should alarm us when we feel them, regarding the Volkswagen Golf or the Scirocco - both equipped with the 1.4 TSI engine with a timing chain - that give these important warnings. Firstly, the rattling noise at the moment of starting: this indicates that the chain has stretched, and if we open the engine we can see that the chain has some "play" in the upper part, which means that the tensioner at the bottom is no longer doing its job, and the chain could come off, causing the car to go out of sync and bend the valves. The engine warning light should also come on to alert us to the problem: during diagnosis, it will indicate timing, camshaft or crankshaft sensor: it's the timing chain. When changing the chain, it is useful to also change the water pump, which is located in a very difficult position, so it is definitely worth changing it.

How do I unlock the automatic transmission of the BMW 3 Series?

In order to unlock the automatic transmission of the BMW 3 Series, the Start / Stop button and the lever release button must be pressed at the same time. This procedure will allow the car gearbox to be unlocked for about 15 minutes, so that in the event of an engine failure, the car can still be moved. It may be necessary to repeat the operation more than once for its success. After unlocking the gearbox, it can return to its original state by simply waiting for the aforementioned 15 minutes, or by pushing the release lever forward for a few seconds.
