How to proceed if we need to remove the faulty start button from the console of a Volkswagen Tiguan MK2? No one thinks that the start button can break, but it is a normal component that can malfunction like anything else on our car. If we do not purchase an original part, we must pay close attention to how the top of the button is oriented; not all are oriented correctly. We first remove the gear shift boot, then remove the screws that hold the frame around the boot and also remove it. The button is inserted in it: we unplug the connector by pressing on the tab at the bottom of the electrical plug, remove the damaged button and replace it with the new one. We reconnect the electrical connector and reattach the frame with its screws. We put back the gear shift boot and the job is done.
