How to Change the Battery of a VW Golf Key Fob

How do you change the battery of a Volkswagen Golf key fob? Follow these steps. First, press the key release button to free the key insert space. Take a plastic or metal spatula and pry apart the two plastic parts to separate the covers exactly in the middle. Remove as shown in the video and open the cover into two pieces. Once you identify the worn battery, replace it with a new one (same size and voltage). Close the two covers by pressing one against the other. Finally, join the two covers and close the metal key fob.
