How to Replace the Remote Battery of a Volvo XC40

In this guide, you will learn how to replace the battery in the remote of your Volvo XC40. To start, locate a lever on the metal part at the bottom of the key (the one with the keyring hole); pull it as shown at minute 2:15; this will allow one side of the remote (the one with the Volvo logo) to slide out. Once extracted, pull another small lever, which you will find again near the metal part: holding the open side toward you and the keyring hole to the right, the lever will be at the top right, as shown at minute 3:50. This will allow you to extract the other plastic face of your remote. At this point, you will find the battery compartment; to open it, you will need to slightly rotate it counterclockwise with the help of a screwdriver or a key; this will allow you to remove the plastic cover. You can then proceed to remove the old battery and insert the new one, with the positive terminal facing you. Finally, you can reinsert the battery cover (rotating it clockwise) and the two plastic faces of your remote.
