How to change the oil on a Yamaha Xmax 400 scooter? Learn how to replace it. Position the scooter on the original stand, and with a socket wrench, unscrew the drain bolt of the oil sump located on the right side (drain the fluid into a container). Refit the drain bolt to the oil sump. Unscrew the special bolt just above the drain bolt (as shown in the video). Unscrew the bolts of the oil filter container; remove it from its housing. Refill the new oil into the engine using a plastic funnel (fill the oil sump with the correct amount); close the oil sump with the locking bolt. Test the scooter's operation.
