To begin, remove the underseat panel using a 10mm T-key (there are 4 pins), then take it out. Drain the system fluid by unscrewing the 3 screws of the underlying plastic (see video). Now you can remove the hose connected to the circulation pump by taking off the clip. Collect the used fluid in a container. Free the plastic under the handlebars by unscrewing the 2 screws and pulling it. At this point, unscrew the cap and you will see more fluid drain due to air circulation. Also remove the second hose by taking off its clip, collect the fluid, close both hoses, and insert the fluid through the top cap. Reassemble everything.

How to Remove the Final Drive from a BMW R 1200 GS?

To remove the final drive from a BMW R 1200 GS, loosen the bolts securing the exhaust so it can be removed along with the rear wheel. The rear wheel will also be removed by unscrewing the five bolts that secure it to the swingarm. Next, detach the brake caliper by unscrewing the mounting bolts and remove the rear part of the swingarm. Inside, you will find the final drive, which should be extracted and replaced with a new spare part; after replacement, reassemble all previously removed components.
