Alfa Romeo 156 - Video tutorial

Model: Alfa Romeo 156 MK 1 - Years 1997-2007
Part: Diesel filter
Operation: Replacing the diesel filter on 156 JTDm

What to do to replace the diesel filter? Let's see how to proceed on a 156 JTDm. We lift the front hood of the car, we identify the diesel filter as in the video. We disconnect all the circulation pipes and the electrical terminals, then unscrew the tightening screws on the sides of the container with a socket wrench. Once the filter has been removed, remove it from the car (replace it with a new filter). Finally we reassemble the filter to the attached container of the diesel filter (we connect pipes and cables) and tighten the appropriate pins. We close the front hood at the end of the replacement and start the car.

We start by inserting the key but leaving it in the initial position, after which we keep the accelerator pedal fully depressed and at the same time turn on the instrument panel. At this point, always keeping the accelerator pressed, press the brake pedal 5 consecutive times and, with the pedals in position, turn off the ignition. We check that the procedure has been successful by starting the vehicle.
