To replace the hydraulic clutch fluid (the procedure also applies to brake hydraulic fluid) in an Aprilia RSV 1000, the operations to be performed are quite simple. First, unscrew the cap of the oil reservoir (in the video images, we can see how, in the illustrated case, Dot4 oil is clearly exhausted due to thermal stress and age). Now, locate the clutch actuator and find the clutch bleed screw. Remove the rubber dirt cover and connect a rubber hose to avoid spillage. Start pumping the clutch lever and, after 2-3 times, hold it down. Unscrew the bleed screw and continue pumping to expel the old fluid. Be careful not to empty the entire system as we will need to bleed the air system afterwards. During this operation, keep adding new oil to the reservoir and continue pumping the clutch lever. This is done until the fluid coming out of the bleed screw is clear, a different colour from the old fluid. Once finished, refill the system with oil and continue bleeding (at least 2-3 times) to avoid any air presence. Once done, reassemble everything and you're finished.
