How to manually close the roof of an Audi TT

Model: Audi Tt MK 2, 8J - Years 2006-2014

Let's see how to manually close the roof of the Audi TT: first, we need to find the hydraulic system release valve, which is located under a slot in the trunk carpet, on the passenger side. We need to insert a screwdriver and turn it 1/4" counterclockwise to release the pressure. We then need help from another person to open the side deflector. We need to unlock the motorized rods (which have a ball joint) and lift the deflector into the open position. We will secure the rods in the clips to avoid damage. We then manually close the roof. Again, with two people, lift the roof into the closed position (being careful not to pinch fingers!). Now remove the rubber cap in the center of the roof; screw the closing tool into the motor until fully engaged, without forcing it. Pull downwards to disengage the gear from the motor; insert the end into the locking motor, and turn counterclockwise to open the locks. Now turn clockwise to close and lock the roof. Reassemble the components by reinserting the gear and unscrewing the tool: Reattach the rubber cap and you're done.
