If the MMI 3G navigation system in your Audi A4 B8, also applicable to other Audi models, stops working, freezes, or shows signs of malfunction, you can attempt a reset by following the procedure shown in the attached tutorial. This is a very simple and quick procedure that requires pressing three buttons on the center console simultaneously. With the ignition on, start by holding down the button at the top with the arrow pointing to the right, while simultaneously pressing the "setup" button and finally the large circular center button. It is important to start with the button with the arrow, as starting with either of the other two will activate the function of that button.
