Automobile Half Shaft Replacement

Model: Audi Tt 8N, MK 1 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Axle shaft

The half shaft is essential for making our car work because it transfers power from the engine to the wheels. To replace it, you need a jack to lift the vehicle off the ground, then remove the wheel by unscrewing the bolts one by one and taking off the tire. After this operation, you will face two more bolts that also need to be removed. To take out the half shaft, you will need to remove the tripod. Once the old half shaft is removed, simply install the new one by reversing the steps, tightening all the parts that were removed earlier. This is the simplest way to change a half shaft.

Before starting the disassembly work, disconnect the battery terminals located in the front engine bay. Using a lever or screwdriver, pry at the handle on the door panel to detach its covering. Use a screwdriver to undo any screws present on the panel, then use a plastic lever to detach all the clips around the perimeter of the door panel, and pull it away by hand. Now, disconnect the opening lever cable, the window lift terminals, and the speaker terminals. Reassemble everything by retracing your steps.
