How do you replace the ignition lock on the Audi A3?

Model: Audi A3 MK 2, 8P - Years 2003-2013
Part: Checks and maintenance

The replacement of the Audi A3 ignition lock is carried out by loosening the screws located at the rear of the steering wheel, which once unscrewed will allow you to remove the steering wheel airbag. When this has been removed, it will be possible to loosen the nut that fixes the entire steering wheel and therefore the plastic that surrounds the steering column. Also removing these plastic covers, it will be possible to access the ignition lock, which can be removed from its housing by unscrewing the screws and disconnecting the connectors connected to the piece. Once the new one has been installed, you will be able to mount all the removed components.
