Replacing the Camshaft Seal and Timing Belt

Model: Audi A6 MK 2, C5 - Years 1997-2004
Part: Engine oil

When rebuilding an engine, for example due to a head gasket sealing issue, it is good practice to replace all gaskets during the assembly phase after resurfacing the cylinder head. You can purchase a so-called gasket kit, which includes all necessary gaskets for reassembling the engine, as well as some essential seals, like those for the camshafts. Once you have thoroughly cleaned the seal seating, lubricate the seals and insert them into their respective seats, ensuring they fit perfectly to guarantee a proper seal. Finally, since the timing components have been removed, you must also replace the timing belt, making sure to perfectly align the timing marks.
