How to Remove the Diesel Fuel Float from an Audi A6

Model: Audi A6 MK 3, C6 - Years 2004-2012

If the engine doesn't start, one possible cause is that fuel isn't reaching it due to a failure of the low-pressure pump: usually, you can hear its characteristic activation sound as soon as you turn on the ignition; this pump is submerged in the tank and is equipped with a float device, located just under the rear passenger seat; disconnect and remove the seat to access the pump location, unscrew the screws securing the protective cap, disconnect the connector and the lines, then rotate and detach the metal flange securing it; once the upper part is removed, slightly rotate and detach the lower part to complete the disassembly by pressing on the locking tabs of the other lines.
