How do you replace the timing chain of the BMW 1 Series?

The replacement of the timing chain on the BMW 1 Series is done by opening the hood, so that access to the components inside the engine compartment is obtained. It will be necessary to loosen the bolts that secure the top of the engine block and the front cover of the engine. Under the latter, the gears with the respective chain will be found, which must be removed from its housing after loosening the chain tensioner nuts; in this way it will be possible to remove the old chain, insert a new one and assemble all the components that have just been disassembled.
