Below are the main instructions for removing and replacing the timing chain on the BMW 1 Series 118i. First, open the bonnet of your car and start by removing the side plastic cover of the timing system, unscrewing the fixing screws and moving the wiring found at the top; then unscrew the screws of the chain tensioner, removing the chain along with the sprockets (after marking the references for correct timing).

Now install the new timing chain, following the video tutorial to the end!
