Guide to Replacing the Timing Chain on a BMW 1 Series 1.6

Today's instructions will show you how to remove and replace the timing chain on a BMW 1 Series 1.6, engine code N13 B16A. First, open the bonnet of the vehicle and start removing the cylinder head cover by unscrewing the fastening bolts and disconnecting the various wiring; then lift the vehicle and remove the lower plastic panels. At this point, disconnect the serpentine belt and remove the side cover of the timing chain by disconnecting the pulleys and thus removing the timing chain; replace it with the new original one and perform the correct timing of the engine.
