In this video, we will see how to test and possibly replace the power module located on the battery of the BMW Series 3 E90/E93 version. This issue can occur if the valve cover is replaced or if work is done in the engine compartment; it is indeed possible to accidentally short the positive cable. In this case, a fuse burns out in what is called the "power module," which is located above the battery at the rear of the vehicle. Unfortunately, the fuses in this unit are not replaceable, so the entire piece must be changed, and it is not an inexpensive component. We can find it, for example, on eBay under the code 176940084280 for the price of €156.97 with free shipping. However, replacing it is simple: just unscrew the supporting screws, pry off the tab, remove all the connections, and replace it with the new one. But first, let's do the test to see if the part is still functional: we will need a test light or a voltmeter, testing it on the back side of the component. If the bulb lights up, the part is still working.
