In this video, we see the problem of the knob in a BMW Z3M coupe that gets stuck and cannot be turned all the way: it gets stuck in the "cold" position and doesn't switch to "hot," or it offers a lot of resistance and then detaches. This is a very common issue in this type of vehicle, especially when the car is cold, and it is caused by the flap inside the heater compartment. You just need to remove the glove compartment and the two metal brackets to access the brass clip located on the heating flap arm. It is possible to adjust the clip towards the rear of the vehicle while holding the wire in place, so as to adjust the cable so that the flap does not close completely.
