Where to Find and How to Remove the Cabin Air Fan of the BMW 5 Series F11

This guide shows how to locate the cabin air fan of the BMW 5 Series F11. The cabin air fan is located inside the engine compartment, in the upper left corner, under the windshield. Access this component by removing the plastic cover using the two plastic clips. Remove the Torx screws securing the battery connection box and move it aside. Remove the gas strut and the aluminum bar; remove the Torx screws securing the filter housing cover. Disconnect the sensor connector and clean it. Check the condition of the front filter. Remove this assembly to reach the fan location. Install a new unit or repair the old one and reassemble everything. Check the operation at maximum power for a few minutes.
