How to Remove the Mirror from a BMW 3 Series Side Mirror

Here’s how to remove the mirror from the external side mirror on a BMW 3 Series. Use a plastic or rubber-coated lever: pry between the edge of the mirror frame and the mirror glass. Apply leverage until the plastics detach from the mirror (disconnect the power cable); this is a delicate operation as the glass or the mirror itself could break. Unscrew the screws with a screwdriver to detach the mirror cover, then replace the damaged part with the new one. Be careful to engage the plastic snap clips into the mirror supports during reassembly.
