Car Radio Removal Instructions

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006

As the first step, open the protective cover of the CD player. Remove the volume control knob of the car radio: there is a hole at the bottom of the knob's housing. Insert a Torx key size 10 into the hole and turn counterclockwise until the retaining spring is released: at this point, leverage sideways with a medium-sized flat screwdriver to extract it from its housing and disconnect the connectors attached to it. Locate the screws securing the CD player. Unscrew them using the Torx key size 10 and remove the player from its housing.
