How to Reset the Service Light on a BMW i3

Here’s how to reset the service light on a 2013 BMW i3: Turn on the ignition by pressing the Start button once without touching the brake pedal. The lights and messages will illuminate on the display. On the left (or right) side of the display, depending on the version, you will find a button. It is usually a small bar or arrow-shaped button, recessed into the dashboard edge. Press and hold the button until "Reset possible" (or a similar message) appears on the display. Release the button. Press the button again to confirm the reset. The display will show "Reset" or "Calculating". Press the button a third time to proceed. Now, the display will show service items such as "Vehicle check", "oil service", or "brake fluid". Scroll through the items by repeatedly pressing the button until you find the one you want to reset, then press and hold the button until "Reset possible" appears. Release and press again to confirm. The display will show "Reset successful". Exit the service mode by pressing the button once or twice until you return to the normal screen.
