Let's see how to replace the rear hatch switch on a BMW X3. It is essential to order the correct replacement part: the YouTuber ordered the handle without the hole for the rear camera and had to modify it. If we order the right part, there is no need to do all the work he did to drill the piece.

For example, the EAN code 4255661805679 on auto-doc.it at the price of $22.99. Open the hatch, unscrew the two screws located inside the handle compartment, and detach it starting from the sides: below we will see the wiper mechanism, and beneath it, the handle to be replaced.

Pull out the handle, remove the camera, disconnect the electrical connector, and reinstall the camera in the new assembly (which we will have purchased correctly). Reconnect the connector and reassemble the panel.

Test the camera's operation, and you're done.
