How to Change the Gear Oil in a BMW 1 Series

In this guide, learn how to change the gear oil in a BMW 1 Series. Position the car on a column lift and raise it to a comfortable height for disassembly. To change the gear oil: remove the metal cover located under the gearbox (as shown in the video), and unscrew all the bolts using a socket spanner. Once the cover is removed, allow the fluid to drain into a container. Refit the oil sump with its bolts, then top up with the appropriate fluid. Finally, test the correct operation of the gearbox.
