Replacing the Driveshaft Support on BMW 5 Series

If you don't have a lift, raise the car with a jack and place it on jack stands, but know that a lift is necessary for this job. Once the vehicle is raised, remove everything that separates you from the center shaft bearing, which includes the exhaust and the lower heat shield. After that, disassemble the shaft by unscrewing the Torx screws present and the three central bolts. With the shaft removed and secured in a vise, mark the position of the shaft and unscrew the various bolts until you reach the bearing, for which you will need a special puller; otherwise, it will be difficult to extract.
