Removing the Lock on BMW X6

Model: BMW X6 MK 1, E71 - Years 2007-2014
Part: Door lock

Open the door and remove the panel. To do this, get a plastic wedge or a small flathead screwdriver and detach the plastic near the door handle. Then, remove the exposed screw. Next, similarly remove the protective plastic from the center handle and unscrew the underlying bolts. Remove the two side clips of the panel and, working carefully, take it off the door. While doing this, disconnect the internal wires and connector. At this point, you have free access to the lock, from which you can unscrew the mounting bolts to remove it.
