To replace the window switch on a BMW 3 Series, lift the shift boot to access the screws underneath. This will allow you to remove the plastic cover around the shifter, which also houses the two window switch panels.

Once the cover is lifted, disconnect the connector from inside and remove the switch panel, replacing it with a new part. After inserting the new switch panel, reconnect it and reattach the plastic cover around the shifter.
