How to Replace the Shift Knob on a BMW 5 Series

Model: BMW Serie 5 E61, E60 - Years 2003-2010

Before you begin, sit in the driver's seat of your BMW 5 Series E60. Start by shifting into neutral (N) by pulling the shift lever towards you. At this point, pull the shift knob firmly upward. This will disengage it from the shift lever it is attached to. Once you complete this step, you can remove it completely, finishing the disassembly. To install the new shift knob, simply push it firmly onto the shift lever until it clicks into place, and you will have completed the replacement.
