How do you replace the fuel filter on the BMW 3 Series?

Model: BMW Serie 3 E91, E90, E92 - Years 2005-2013
Part: Diesel fuel filter

In order to replace the fuel filter of the BMW 3 Series, the car must be lifted and the fastening bolts of the protective panel loosened. After removing the protection panel, a liquid collection tray must be placed under the filter. With a slotted screwdriver you will need to loosen the fuel filter clamps and remove the snap ring of the fuel pressure regulator retaining clip. So with an object that acts as a lever you have to detach the pressure regulator from the filter. At this point, it will be necessary to loosen the bolt that secures the filter holder and detach it from the supply lines. Once the old filter has been removed, it can be replaced.
