Engine Air Filter Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 5 E34 - Years 1988-1995

To replace the engine air filter, remove the airbox (the box containing the filter) as it is installed inside the engine compartment, rotated 90° from the opening line. Disconnect the intake duct hose and pull out the airbox; open the metal locking tabs, remove the old filter, clean the inside of the box thoroughly, and install the new filter. Reposition the airbox in its place and reconnect the hose. A clean air filter will allow the proper airflow, making the engine run smoother and more efficiently.
