To replace the steering gearbox on a BMW 3 Series, lift the vehicle with a jack or a lift to access the components underneath. This will allow you to reach the bolts securing the steering gearbox to the respective wheels: by unscrewing these bolts, you can free the rack on the sides. At this point, by unscrewing the additional bolts in the center, you can completely remove the entire piece to replace it with a new one. This should be reconnected in the center and to the wheel hubs.
