Replacing Valve Stem Seals

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

To replace the valve stem seals, first obtain a valve spring compressor. This tool allows you to compress the valve return spring, separate the retaining half-shells of the retainer, and then remove the valve. At this point, remove the old oil seal, clean the seat thoroughly, and insert the new one after generously lubricating it with clean oil. Then, reinstall the valve, spring, and retainer. Compress the spring with the compressor and apply the retaining half-shells. Repeat the same procedure on the other valves.

To replace the headlamp bulbs on a Kia Sportage: open the bonnet by pulling the lever located at the bottom right of the dashboard, and secure it with the prop rod. Locate the inspection cap of the headlamp (at the rear of the headlamp) and remove it.
