How to Reset the Service Light on BMW X5 E53

If you have just performed the regular service on your BMW X5 E53 and want to permanently turn off the service light that stays on the dashboard, follow this manual reset procedure. First, ensure that your car is turned off and all doors are securely closed. Next, locate the button between the fuel gauge and the speedometer and press it. While holding the button, turn the key to the on position. At this point, release and press the same button two more times. Once the "reset" message starts to flash, press it one last time, and you are done.
