Instructions for Removing the Alternator

Before removing the auxiliary belt, it is suggested to take a photo or note the routing of the belt around the various pulleys. Once the auxiliary belt is removed, unbolt the mounting pin of the upper pulley of the tensioner and then the tensioner itself; then unscrew the nut securing the positive cable eyelet and disconnect the connector from the alternator; also remove the screws around the circumference of the alternator, and using a screwdriver as a lever, pull the alternator forward from the pulley.

Since this is a water-cooled alternator, some fluid may leak out during removal.
