Removing the arm rest unit in an automobile is a complex and difficult process but not impossible to do. First, the shift boot has to be started until it pops out and then, under the shift console, push up the bottom of the button until it pops out. You will see a screw that holds the center console down and needs to be removed. The ashtray has to be pulled out and removed, along with the cup holder unit.
