This video shows how to replace the remote battery of a first-generation BMW X3. First, use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the latch located under the logo. This will allow you to lift the plastic cover of the key. Be careful when lifting the plastic cover; gently touch the chip with your hands to access the battery compartment. Now you can replace the battery with a CR2032. Reassemble all components of the key, being careful to handle the chip.
