Rear Hood Hinge Repair Instructions

Repairing the rear hood hinge involves reconnecting the two hinge elements held together by a chain link secured with a pin that has come out of its place. To reinsert the pin, you must realign the two elements so that their respective loops align for the pin to be inserted. For this repair, use a vise, preferably secured to the workbench more stably than shown in the video. Start by loosening the side nut and removing the plate that holds the torsion spring in place, then remove the spring as well. Completely extract the pin from its place, align the loops, and reinsert the pin before reassembling the spring.
