Resetting the Service Maintenance Light

Model: BMW X3 MK 1, E83 - Years 2003-2010

Reset the service light manually using the trip reset button: in the center of the instrument cluster, there are two buttons, one on the left (labeled S/R, used to reset the trip odometer) and one on the right (used to set the clock). Press the trip reset button and, while holding it, turn on the ignition. When the display shows "reset service", release the button and press it again until the display shows the mileage for the next service interval (usually 9,320 mi).
