As shown in this tutorial, replacing the battery in the BMW X3 remote is a very simple and quick task. You will need a replacement CR2032 battery and a small flathead screwdriver.

First, extract the emergency key by pressing the designated button, then insert the screwdriver into the indicated slot, pry it open, and unlock the rear cover. At this point, remove the old battery using the screwdriver, insert the replacement battery in the correct orientation, and reassemble everything.
