The timing belt is a very important mechanical device for the movement of the vehicle, it joins the crankshaft with the camshaft, which is in turn responsible for the movement of the valves and pistons. It is made of a rubbery and elastic material and reinforced with steel parts to withstand the stresses and mechanical stresses to which it is continuously subjected, which would otherwise lead to alterations and damage to its structure. If the timing belt breaks, the first components to suffer damage are the connecting rods, pistons and valves. This is because, if the belt breaks, it causes the two connected shafts to go out of phase or misalign, with often irreparable results. The indications given by the manufacturer regarding the change of the belt are included in the interval between 120,000 km and 180,000 km, or 6.8 years.

How do you adjust the clutch cable on the Kia Picanto?

To be able to adjust the clutch cable of the Kia Picanto you need to open the hood so that you have access to the components inside the engine compartment: in order to reach the cable you will need to remove some components on the right side, such as the battery and the air filter. Below them you will find the clutch cable, which will have to be adjusted by screwing or loosening the bolt placed at the end of the cable. This will make the pedal harder or softer; after the adjustment, it will be possible to assemble all the components by closing the hood.
