Today we will discover the information that will allow us to disassemble and replace the timing chain of the BMW 3 Series, with engine code N20. The timing chain, on this type of engine, should be replaced every 7 years or 200,000 kilometers; it is however advisable to carry out a visual inspection before this timing, making sure that there is no noise. Subsequently, the main steps related to the disassembly and replacement of the timing chain are illustrated, replacing it with the new original one and also replacing the water pump kit if necessary.
